GGS GARDENS BY THE BAY INTEREST BAGDE
Guides: To complete all sections A, B and C within 6 months of starting date.
A. To attend a training session conducted by Gardens by the Bay. This lesson includes orientation to the gardens and site visit. The attendance will be monitored by the Staff of GGS and GB.
B. In a group of not more than 3 persons, create a Journal or Garden Trail on any one of the Theme gardens such as Heritage Garden or Flower Dome or World of Plants or Dragonfly Lake or Flower Dome or Cloud Forest.
The contents of the journal or garden trail should include all of the following:
a. Identifying three plants from the garden and relate its usefulness to people.
b. Make a collage, poster or video clip on the plants and present it to a patrol or group.
c. Design a worksheet for the Guides to understand more about Gardens by the Bay.
The journal or trail is to be submitted to the Guider after completion.
C. Projects: To complete any ONE of the following roles, from any of the following two categories, to be performed at Gardens by the Bay:
1. Facilitation:
a. Facilitator: independent facilitation and delivery of entire programme content OR
b. Assistant Facilitator: partial delivery of content, together with other peers or in support of main facilitator OR
c. Presenter/Speaker: for talks based on GB-championed themes and causes
2. Garden Guiding/Chaperoning:
a. Garden Guide: to provide holistic garden guiding experience, with the knowledge of all key GB content areas OR
b. Station Guide: focus on assigned parts of GB content, or overview of generic GB content (less content heavy) OR
c. Befriender: chaperones, with station-guide training for group visits that require a high guide to visitor ratio, such as Groups with physical disabilities, semi or non-ambulant elderly, special needs visitors etc.
The attendance for the projects will be monitored by Staff of GGS and GB.
