Held once every 5 years, International Camp 2012 is organized as part of the Association’s Centenary Celebrations of Girl Guiding. The camp theme “Girls Worldwide say We can Save our Planet’ will encourage and challenge each of us to think about and live out a life that is green and blue!
Dates:
4-8 June 2012 (Monday – Saturday)
Venue:
Camp Christine, MOE Jalan Bahtera Campsite and Sarimbun Campsite
Guide Participants:
1 patrol of 8 Guides (maximum 2 patrols per company)
Camp Fee:
S$180 per girl (inclusive of activities and excursion charges). The camp fee is to be submitted only after the Coy/Pack’s registration for the camp has been accepted.
Dorothy Chan Camp Assistance Fund:
Brownies and Guides may apply for the Dorothy Chan Camp Assistance Fund if they cannot afford to pay the full amount of the camp fee. The details and application form are available from the GGS website at http://www.girlguides.org.sg/forms_download/. This form is only to be submitted when the Coy/Pack’s registration for the camp has been accepted.
Kit List:
The personal camp kit list will be sent to confirmed participants at a later date.
All Brownies will sleep in dormitories but will be required to bring their own sleeping bags.
Guide participants are required to sleep under tentage.
Tents and gadget poles will not be provided. Each Guide patrol is required to bring its own tent to camp. (Subject to availability, tents may be rented.) The tent may be canvas or nylon, A-frame ridge or dome tents. Sub-camps are not expected to build gadgets.
Activities:
Kayaking, high elements, night cycling, pioneering, backwoodsman cooking, nature trails etc.
Registration Process:
The closing date is 31 October 2011. As there are limited places, participation at the camp is on a 1st-come-1st-served basis. Companies/Packs are to submit the following:
1) Participant list (please note that there is a different form for Brownies and Guides).
2) Consent form for every girl listed in the participation list.
Hardcopies must be submitted via post to or in person at Guide House, attention to Ms Chui Sheok Cheng. Fax and e-mail submissions will NOT be accepted.
